Version limits - what is counted as a class

Postby john w » 31 July 2013, 15:56

If we use the versions other than enterprise there are limitations based on tables and forms/classes. There are number of questions about what is counted as a class. For example, are reports a class or form? How are books counted? So what constitutes a class for the purposes of being counted in the versions that have limitations.

Yes, there are some limitations for tables and forms, you can find the limits here http://www.instantdeveloper.com/eng/versions.aspx .

The limits are counted in this way:
- for the tables limit only the database tables are counted
- for the classes limit are counted only the classes and forms (no reports, no panels, etc.).

I know this is a concern for some looking at the in.de versions. So to be clear, the only time a class is counted is when I select Add Class. No other objects within in.de are counted as classes. Correct?

Both classes and forms are counted for the classes limit.

I understand the form count piece but what increments the class side of the count. Is it only when I choose 'Add class' from the menu?

Giuseppe:
1) Does importing views counts ?
2) Is there in Inde a "counter" that shows how many classes are in a project during development?
Counting the number of tables in Inde is not an issue, there are visible in a tree structure. Finding out how many classes can be difficult.

You can see the counter by double clicking on the top item in your project. The project name - this opens a property window showing the counts of tables and forms/classes used in the project.
