Style items in a Value List

Postby Gaby_h » 23 February 2015, 17:23

Is there a way to style items (set text color) in a value list. For expl I want items where State="MA' to be in red, items where State="DC" in blue.

There has been a fair amount of silence/delay from the InDe support staff to questions here. Since this is not typical I will assume it because they are busy with getting the v14 for release this month.

It seems the English side is getting neglected. Responses on the Italian side are more prompt.

Hi, in a lot of places (not everywhere), if you inject HTML tag in your captions, expressions, etc.., they are evaluated by the browser.
Try to define the State column in the query as '<font color="red">'+Customer.State+'</font>'.
I do not promise, but sometimes it works.

Hi Simoncini:
I had already tried that and other variations, Inde renders raw HTML. Also cannot use HTMLdecode() function in the expression.

Gaby,

I saw a post on the Italian side:
http://forum.instantdeveloper.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=67157

that if you set the mask to the equal sign "=" then you could put raw html in, at least when it is rendered by the client. Does not work for pdf since it is rendered by the server. Worth a try for this I guess.

Jack:
There is a similar post on this side (I believe by Alan Sawyer) reg rendering html using the '=' in mask; it has no effect on a drop down value list.

Gaby,

Thanks--I found the post you mentioned re: using equal sign in mask (for reference):
