Application Themes

Postby john w » 13 July 2013, 18:58

I was looking at the impact of the built in themes for In.de on my application. I was setting/changing them in the Parameters window under the General section. When I selected 'Quadro', saved the change, and compiled the application; it opened to window/form that had the application name and a progress type bar moving from left to right. However, it never opened the application, just hanging on opening form.

I then tried the mobile look it similarly opened and hung on the 'Starting Application' page.

I will assume at this point I need to do something to make it open the application. I have looked in the help file but could not find anything.

I then went the Graphic Theme Editor and it only offers Seattle or Mobile for editing. I did create a custom theme based on Seattle. When I tried to load it on the Parameters -> General section as a Custom theme it says it is not found. Again I will say I am probably failing to do something I just have no idea what that is.

Any thoughts?

Just one thing to ask to better comprehend the situation: did you changed a seattle themed application to a quadro one?

If that's the case then I'm sorry but I've to say you that's impossibile. A web application can't be switched to mobile.

Is that your case?

Yes - I was trying the different themes, that makes sense as far as the built in themes, but I start creating a custom theme in the Graphics Theme Editor which I called CRW and as based on Seattle. I would like to apply that theme universally across the app. It does not show as one of my choices.

You have to set "custom" as theme property and them specify the custom them's name.

Okay I tried to load the file and it is too large apparently there is a 2mb limit. So I zipped the file

I opened your project, but that application is a web one. You can't use the mobile themes (Quadro and Mobile) in a web application.

If you want to create a mobile application you have to create it mobile from the start by using Add mobile application contextual menu's command of the project object.

If you want to use a custom theme you have to double click on the parameters folder and then specify custom in the theme property, then you can write down your theme name.

Once you mentioned that early about it not being a mobile app that made sense. As I said I was in the beginning just experimenting with what was built into In.de.

What is the real issue is that I am making a custom theme based on Seattle. At this point if has a couple of minor changes. I call this theme CRW and will be one when finished I use across my applications.

I did go into the parameters use Custom->entered CRW and saved it. I get a compile error that says this file is not found. Yet when I open the Graphic Theme editor it is in the list.

I may post a quick video later so you can better see what is happening.

OK, thanks. An updated video or project can make me understand. I'm sure the answer is near but there's a little misunderstanding that is deceiving me.
