How can I add a button to the lines of a grid

Postby bobalston » 4 August 2013, 20:26

How can I add a button to the lines of a display form? I would like to have a button that the user can click to go to another form, related to the row on which the user clicked. so each row would have a button and the user would click the button on the row of interest.

Found my own answer in the Users Manual section 4.2.3 p124

I think I understand it in general - add a calculated field to the data source that is linked to the icon. Then add the appropriate on click event.

Still need to test it out.

OK I still don't get it. I can add a value list to the DB library. That is where I get stuck.

Is there a training/tutorial that shows this in more detail?

Make sure you have set your value list in the properties form of the calculated field > "Column properties" section > "Domain" field
If it could be of any help, I attached a sample project.

I see your sample project but not sure how to get there. Did you follow the steps in the doc starting at page 126 or did you use some other steps.

also upon running your sample project, I could not see the icon displayed, just a value.

would you mind terribly providing the step by step process?

thank you!

Following the steps in the documentation, I noticed something is missing at step 3. In addition to the operations described, you have to open the properties form of the new expression and add the value list created in the first step in the "Domain" field.
See the image below and let me know if this helps.
